The Northvale Public Schools are a community public school district that serves students in grades K through 8 from Northvale in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. Students from Rockleigh, a non-operating school district, attend the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship.[3][4]
As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 614 students and 44.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.8.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[5]
Students in grades 9-12 attend Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan which serves students from Harrington Park, Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan and Rockleigh. The high school is part of the Northern Valley Regional High School District, which also serves students from Closter, Demarest and Haworth at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest.[6]
